Recommended Equipment

Farseek Map Studio was originally designed for use on note-pads for conversion to tablet format. For in-flight operations, robust computer with a monitor designed for outdoor use (reflective screen) is recommended. For reconnaissance flights scheduled to last for more than one hour, long-life batteries (usually supplied by the manufacturer) are also recommended.

Panasonic offers a product designed specifically for the type of application we have created. The Panasonic Toughbook CF-19 also has built-in GPS capability.

Recommended specifications – outdoor use

• Memory : 512 MB or greater
• CPU : 1 GIG or greater
• Hard drive : 250 MB free space
• Operating system : Windows XP or Windows XP Tablet Edition
• Minimum resolution : 800x600, 1024x768 recommended
• GPS positioning : Serial Port, NMEA standards
